Starting next week, publishers can place ads up to every 250 words in an article – previously 350 – according to a Facebook Media Blog post.

Publishers will have the ability to either manually place ads or opt for automatically placement of their ads every 250, 350, or 500 words.

There have been multiple reports of how publishers have been less than thrilled with the amount of ad money they are making off of Google AMP – and we would think the same applies to Facebook Instant Articles as well.

In their blog post, they said, “We’ve heard from publishers that having more flexibility and control over their business strategies on our platform is important. One way we’re evolving our products to grant more control is with an update to monetization in Instant Articles.”
